It;s a lot of text and few videos not great and I think spread professors course is much much better

Spread trading is basically:
1. take 2 or 3 correlated instruments that move together 99% of the time (eg bonds, certain commodities, etc)
2. when one of them takes a different direction (= the spread widens between them) is what you are looking for as we know fur sure that it will move back to moving together again
3. but you still don't know if either A instrument will follow B or B will join A
4. Therefore you short the one that is going up and long the one that is going down (= you bet on narrowing spread)
5. you profit the difference as soon as one joins the other

Trading spreads is much much simpler than trying to guess if an instrument will go up or down the next minute.

If you're saying spread trading is complicated; it's not. You will be entering 1 or more long and 1 or more short and be netral.
With this style of trading you're avoiding a lot of risk and only taking on what you consider it as an edge.

If you buy a stock, there are a lot of issue --- company might have a problem, fed int rate might affect, general us economy might have a problem, a terrorist attach can cause the stock to drop... but if you are long and short, the short would reward you and even though you will lose on the long leg you will considerably lose less in the longs than in the shorts.
